Belmare Car Show 2026: The Cars, the People
The Belmare Car Show 2026 is the 4th annual show of its type here at Belmare Senior Living in Oakdale CA, itself just 4 years old. Built new, they moved in in 2022 and have had a car show every year since. And what a nice show! This was my first. I met them at our Cars & Coffee in Oakdale events every 3rd Saturday, right next door at the old Rite Aid Pharmacy. Several of the residents came over to peak at our cars and we were invited to participate in their upcoming show. This year it was held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, exactly one week after our last Cars & Coffee on June 20th. Belmare's lovely little show is always free to enter, and includes a nice food spread, trophies and a live DJ. Great cars, cool people, nice location, it was all there.
So, let's look at some cars already!
ABOVE: What a trio of high-performance GM cars, spanning a couple of decades no less.
BELOW: 3 generations of Chevy trucks. Cool
ABOVE & BELOW: We've seen a lot of these guys and their cars at our Cars & Coffee events. Like the blue '66 Mustang fastback, the orange '69 Camaro and that wicked red-and-white '55 BelAir.
Modern Muscle made a showing also, in the form of this modern Dodge Challenger, and my '05 Mustang GT. The pink '51 Merc in the background won a trophy, but unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it. Sorry. It's for sale BTW, for $40K OBO. This thing wins trophies everywhere it goes. And you can just buy it!
ABOVE & BELOW: These guys all showed up together and what a group of awesome cars and trucks.
This was my personal pick of the show. The sign said it was a 1947 but there's no way. I think it's a '50. Gorgeous, super rare and it wonderful shape.
ABOVE & BELOW: The pre-war contingent showed up in strength and showing their colors.
ABOVE: My (Andy) 2005 Mustang GT helped represent Modern Muscle at the show. It doesn't get much attention though. Maybe because the color is one of those that doesn't jump out at you like bright orange, yellow or red. Or pink. But I'm not changing the color, because the cops also ignore it. Good for me. But I've been working on a few ideas on how to spice it up at shows. More on this later...
ABOVE & BELOW: Parked next to me was this lowly 1972 Mercedes 450SL. What was it doing here? And why was the hood up? Because some crazy hooligan dropped a Viper V10 engine into this baby! Holy Crap! The installation looked very professional also, hard to tell what was done. But, talk about a sleeper!!

BELOW: This wild and wicked '47 GMC won Best Truck. That's his mom posing with him, she lives at Belmare.

Belmare's friendly, able staff really went all out on the Belmare Car Show 2026. They put out a food spread that everyone raved over. Ham and cheese croissants, pastries, apple bread, coffee, juice, waters and more were enjoyed by all. What a welcome change from the vendors at most shows. They did a good job of organizing the show as well, minimizing confusion and congestion getting 40 cars in and out of the smallish parking lot. But, it all went down without a hitch. Congrats and thanks to Belmare Senior Living and their amazing staff, headed by Cynthia Villalovoz. We at Valley Classics Car Club offered our assistance, mostly in helping to market the event, but we were also on the ground at the show helping park the cars nice and straight.
ABOVE: Drizzling icing onto cinnamon rolls, yum! Those are ham & cheese croissants in the foreground, and they were delicious!!
BELOW: The Belmare Senior Living Center is a top-notch facility, nice in every way. And judging by how they ran this car show, they run a tight ship, but do so in a friendly, helpful manner. And its neat as a pin!
